  • Law firm Lovells reports that between 2,000 and 3,000 complaints have been made to the UK Office of Fair Trading (OFT) since the Competition Act came into force on i March, compared with around 1,000 a year before the Act. Two companies have so far been granted immunity from prosecution for "whistleblowing" on fellow members of an alleged cartel. The OFT also carried out its first dawn raids as part of its investigations into potentially anti-competitive behaviour under the Act.
