ACE launches new casualty capabilities in South Africa

ACE Group has hired Lee Stacey as head of casualty South Africa as it launches its new casualty insurance practice in the country.

Stacey will be tasked with increasing the insurer’s presence in the local insurance market and will focus on public liability, products liability and pollution insurance.

She joins ACE from Zurich Insurance, bringing with her 20 years of insurance industry experience.

She will be based in Sandton, South Africa, and will report to Gary Jack, chief operating officer, ACE South Africa.

Jack said: “ACE was built on its strength as a casualty market and this is still a core component of our global underwriting offering today. The appointment of Lee is therefore another important step for us in South Africa as we continue to progress our strategy of increasing our product range locally in alignment with our global offerings. 

“Lee’s vast technical and underwriting experience is an asset as we build our presence in this important sector of the market.”
