Nick Lee talks to StrategicRISK about his goals as new head of client management
Three weeks into his new role, ACE head of client management UK and Ireland Nick Lee (pictured) has set himself a challenge – to extend the insurer’s client management services to national and emerging multinational firms.
The insurer currently offers its client management services to some of the FTSE100 and FTSE350 businesses, but in the future, Lee says he aims to “roll out what we have done in terms of structured client management to a wider client base.
“We are looking to apply the client management process to a larger range of clients than we have hitherto done.
“Because of the success we’ve had around client management generally, we are looking to expand out to the larger national-type accounts that haven’t had that process applied in such a rigorous way up until this point in time.
“It’s a case of marshalling the resources that we have within ACE, whether that be underwriting, servicing and administration or claims, it’s about pulling all of the constituent parts of ACE together, working in a more cohesive way and ensuring we deliver on our promises to our clients.”
In his new role, Lee will report to Phil Sharpe, chief operating officer, UK and Ireland, and will be responsible for driving forward ACE’s customer service proposition.
He joined the group in March 2010 as client relationship manager for the UK and Ireland Major Risks business, where he played a pivotal role in driving growth. Prior to this, he spent 20 years at Willis, latterly as account director in its corporate risk solutions division.
