The business continuity consultancy boosts its pandemic planning unit
Business continuity planning consultancy, Crisis Survivor appointed a specialist medical practitioner and pandemic management partner to deal with a potential outbreak of swine flu in Britain.
Workplace Wellbeing, the specialist occupational health and welfare consultancy, is joining Crisis Survivor’s panel in order to handle any large-scale employment crises, either as a result of a pandemic or from more regular health issues, such as mass food poisoning.
Crisis Survivor is also warning businesses to prepare for an outbreak of swine flu by:
• Putting together a contingency plan, such as 24/7 management contact, should their employees be struck down with the Flu
• Listening closely to government advice
• Preparing their work force – particularly if it is elderly - by providing them with help guides or telephone advice lines should they contract the disease
Tony Gimple, managing director of Crisis Survivor, added: ‘In a worst case scenario wide-spread disease could cost the UK economy billions of pounds. Although many businesses are ill-prepared for a flu epidemic on the scale that is being predicted, people should not panic unnecessarily. Measures can be taken to protect businesses and their employees in order to minimise risk and, with our specialist knowledge of business risk management, together with Jane’s experience, we can help businesses put a strategy in place to prepare them for the outbreak and spread of the disease.’
