Only months after its formal launch, the International Society of Catastrophe Managers (ISCM) has nearly 400 members. Since its launch and first conference, held jointly with the Reinsurance Association of America in New Orleans in February 2007, the ISCM held a further conference in London with the RAA and the International Underwriting Association (IUA). There have also been regional meetings in New York City, Zurich and London with another planned in Paris in the autumn.
The next ISCM catastrophe modelling school with the RAA will take place in Tampa, Florida, in February 2008, which will coincide with the second annual members’ meeting.
