This week is your final opportunity to enter our inaugural 2015 MEA Risk and Insurance Excellence Awards.
We have extended our deadline for entry for a few extra days to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to enter.
We completely understand that many award entry processes can be very time consuming but that is where we are different and importantly on hand to assist you with a submission – to ensure your good work has the opportunity to be recognised by the industry, bringing valuable recognition to your own staff for their efforts as well as promoting your service/new product/initiative/innovation etc. to a wide and global audience.
How can we help you now?
We can conduct a phone interview, based around the key questions set in the entry form. We complete the form on your behalf and send a copy for you to approve. At this point we only need basic information.
If your entry makes our shortlist, then you will have the opportunity to make a 10 minute presentation to our judges on 20 April.
The Awards are an opportunity to bring together the Middle East and Africa’s leading risk managers, brokers, insurers and reinsurers to recognise hard work, innovation, and celebrate success.
Organised by the publishers of StrategicRISK and our re-insurance focused sister publication GR, 14 awards will be handed out at a gala dinner on 27 September in Dubai in what will be the first in the region to combine risk and insurance professionals as well as the only awards to cover the Middle East and entire African continent.
The Awards are a platform for risk and insurance professionals to share best practice, showcase innovative solutions, and demonstrate market leadership. They celebrate the successes of the region’s finest risk and (re)insurance executives, and the professionals who make sure they get the best results. In this first year, we are seeking to find the most successful and innovative individuals, teams and companies to reward their achievements.
Unlike other events, the Awards will give entrants the opportunity to provide simple and concise submissions and then present their case to a panel of expert industry judges.
Each entrant shortlisted will be invited to deliver a 10 minute presentation at the first round judging day taking place at the Four Seasons Hotel, Jumeirah beach, Dubai on April 20 2015.
The 2015 MEA Risk and Insurance Excellence Awards gala dinner will take place on September 27 2015 at the same hotel.

AWARD ENTRY CATEGORIES
MEA Commercial Broker Initiative of the Year
The best commercial brokers offer a comprehensive service to their business clients in assisting them with their risk mitigation strategies and are finely attuned to both actual and potential new developments. This award will recognise which in the sector are best regarded by risk managers and provide an opportunity to both the major players and the smaller specialists to demonstrate their worth.
Who can enter: Brokers
MEA Commercial Insurer Initiative of the Year
This award highlights the best risk management products and services that are helping corporates to eliminate or reduce their risk exposures while also responding to new and emerging risks.
Who can enter: Insurers
MEA Business Reinsurance Initiative of the Year
Reinsurance provides an effective buffer for the economic impact of catastrophic losses and this award recognises how the sector is responding to risk in areas ranging from major weather-related losses to major infrastructure projects. Evidence of fresh thinking in the way that the reinsurance market handles major risk will be a deciding factor in picking the winner.

MEA Business Partner of the Year
This category recognises those service partners who have gone the extra mile over the past year. If your firm works with MEA-based brokers and insurers to help them structure, deliver and communicate about their products and services to clients and partners in the region, share your achievements with us and the industry.
Who can enter: Service providers i.e. Loss adjusters, technology companies, ratings agencies, communication and marketing agencies, fraud and credit data specialists.
MEA Training Excellence Programme of the Year – Insurer
This category is designed to spotlight investment in training and education of its people by an insurer that has resulted in tangible, measureable benefits for the insurer’s employees, business partners, and/or end-clients – and for the business as a whole.
Who can enter: Insurers
MEA Training Excellence Programme of the Year – Broker
This category is designed to spotlight investment in training and education of its people by a broker that has resulted in tangible, measureable benefits for the broker’s employees, business partners, and/or end-clients – and for the business as a whole.
Who can enter: Brokers
MEA Risk Communication Strategy of the Year
There is no shortage of warnings to organisations on their actual and potential exposures to risk, but fewer communications that couple this with practical suggestions on risk mitigation. This award is a tribute to those whose communication strategy has been most effective in outlining risk to companies, while backing up the message with intelligent and radical proposals on how it is best addressed.

MEA Enterprise Risk Management Programme of the Year
Enterprise Risk Management has moved in recent years from a concept to becoming a vital corporate governance and management tool that responds to the ever-growing need for transparency. However, the benefits of ERM are not always immediately evident. This award will recognise the dynamic application of ERM within an organisation through a strategy that has produced tangible results.

MEA Best Risk Financing Approach
With an increasing variety of risk financing options now available many companies are deploying more diverse and novel ways to cover their risks. This award will acknowledge the efforts made by individual risk professionals or their teams to finance risks in an innovative and effective way. It will recognise the planning, understanding and strategy behind the risk financing approach in addition to the outcome achieved.
Who can enter: Risk managers or brokers on behalf of their corporate client
