Willis has appointed Sara Benolken as global industry leader for its new specialist group, technology, media and telecommunications (TMT).
Benolken first joined the broker in 2007 to provide advice to its TMT clients.
She will now head up the new group, which has been set up to provide dedicated insurance and risk management service to its TMT clients.
The group is the fifth industry unit launched by Willis – construction, financial services, natural resources and transportation were announced late last year.
Additional specialised industry groups will be announced in the coming weeks and months.
Benolken reports to Steve Hearn, deputy chief executive officer who said: “As an insurance industry leader, Sara Benolken has proven herself, during a career spanning more than 20 years, to be one step ahead of change in this sector, providing clients with the insights, service, creativity and trust that our clients demand in a risk advisor.”
