The conference will be a physical event in Brighton on 4 to 6 October with a focus on sustainability
Airmic is preparing for the return of its Annual Conference in 2021, which will be a physical event in Brighton, 4th to 6th October.
“Airmic provides a platform for risk and insurance professionals to stay in touch, to communicate with each other and share knowledge, ideas, and information in collaboration with our partners,” said Julia Graham, deputy CEO and technical director of Airmic. ”We look forward the time when we can blend our success in achieving this virtually by meeting up together in Brighton.”
Delaying the conference from June to October has necessitated moving the venue from Manchester to Brighton.
The theme is “Driving Transformation - Shaping the future”, with applications from positioning for growth to creating an environmentally sustainable future.
It focuses on meeting the challenges faced in mitigating risks and converting opportunities, with an underlying confidence for risk professionals to actively work together to shape their organisation’s place in the new world with a sustainable future.
Airmic chief executive John Ludlow commented: “As risk professionals we can spot a need or demand, understand what’s driving a threat or causing a vulnerability, and develop our own ideas about what might form a solution, speak to people about it, and gain support for changing what was otherwise inevitable. That’s what leaders do.
“The next big challenge is the environment. Now we understand that for sustainable development we need to protect the environment to sustainably grow the economy. It’s another example of shaping our environment, quite literally.”
