In the latest AIRMIC Live conference call risk managers heard about the essential ingredients for career success.
Speakers in the pod included Paul Hopkin of AIRMIC, Nathan Skinner of StrategicRISK and Ruth Noden from recruiter Kinsey Allen.
Hopkin kicked off the debate by outlining developments in the risk profession and how risk managers should seek to contribute in the future.
Skinner outlined some of the most interesting points to emerge from a series of interviews with CROs and group level risk managers, which StrategicRISK has been conducting on behalf of AIRMIC.
He spoke of the fact that risk managers who want to excel may need to improve their business knowledge and commercial acumen, to communicate better with the board and overcome some political problems.
Finally, Kinsey Allen’s Ruth Noden discussed an overview of risk management recruitment trends during the past year. She also explained what risk management skill sets are currently in demand as well as which industries are currently recruiting.
