New guide reflects the stronger codification of directors’ responsibilities
AIRMIC has updated and republished its guide to directors’ & officers’ insurance.
The new document revises the D&O guide, which was published in 2004 in response to soaring rates. Like its predecessor, it outlines the role of D&O insurance in a modern organisation, with advice on how to purchase cover efficiently.
The revisions take into account the Companies Act of 2006, especially the stronger codification of directors’ responsibilities enshrined in the measure.
“This is a fine tuning exercise rather than a radical rewrite,” said technical director
Paul Hopkin, author of both guides. “It clarifies matters in light of recent legislation following requests from several AIRMIC members.”
