Morocco launches its first risk management association
Morocco has launched its first risk management association, called AMRIM.
The association held its first general meeting in Casablanca on April 12.
Mountasser Fassi Fihri, risk manager of ONA Groupe, said the association expects to give more structure to the risk management field in Morrocco by supporting its members in their efforts to implement and develop the risk management, promoting the risk management function and spreading a risk management culture in Morocco, and helping the government to deal with the main risk issues threatening the country.
Fassi Fihri told StrategicRISK in October: ‘There are about 17 companies in Morocco that now have a risk management division. They embrace a range of sectors including banking, industry, insurance and energy.’
