A consultant listed the top ten most environmentally and socially criticised companies of 2008
A report has named the top ten most environmentally and socially criticised companies this year.
Samsung, Total, Wal-Mart, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), Shell, ExxonMobil, Citigroup, Nestlé, ArcelorMittal, and Chevron were all red flagged by ECOFACT.
ECOFACT said: ‘The companies have been consistently and severely criticized by the world’s media and NGOs for issues including human rights abuses, severe environmental violations, corruption and bribery, and breaches of labor, health and safety standards.’
Rankings are based on the Reputational Risk Index (RRI), as measured by RepRisk in the first six months of this year.
