Recession Watch webpage is designed to help risk managers harness opportunities and mitigate threats from the recession
The Institute of Risk Management (IRM) has established a forum to collect and collate risk management ideas and trends that are emerging from the recession.
The key objective is to share experiences and learning that can help organisations not only cope with current conditions, but become stronger, using risk in the recession as an ‘opportunity’ rather than as a ‘threat’, said the organisation.
The results are being published on dedicated 'Recession Watch' pages on the IRM website.
Andy Bye, Chairman of the IRM’s Innovation, Value Creation and Opportunity group, said: ‘This recession is the most serious economic downturn we have seen in generations and it will impact on different sectors and regions to different degrees. We felt it was important for members and non-members to have a place to go for advice and information on managing risk through the recession. We want to hear from anyone on their experiences and especially we want to share the opportunities and innovations that arise from these times.’
