A “significant task” ahead to embed risk culture, says the IRM’s deputy head
A recent risk manager survey found that risk culture is far from embedded in most organisations, despite risk management having been identified as a key goal.
“There is a significant task ahead to embed risk management in organisational cultures,” said Alex Hindson, Institute of Risk Management (IRM) deputy head, who shared the survey results with StrategicRISK.
“It would appear in many cases risk management is being developed in isolation to business management,” he continued.
Even more worryingly “few organisations appear to have a coherent strategy and approach to developing risk culture,” said Hindson.
The findings of the survey are displayed in the charts on this page. Forty eight risk managers from the IRM's Solvency II special interest group, who work for insurance companies, responded to the survey.
