Livsey will bring experience in trade accreditation and occupational standards
Ian Livsey will be named the IRM’s new chief executive and an official announcement from the IRM is expected be made on Monday, the institute told StrategicRISK.
Livsey, who succeeds Steve Fowler, who left in February 2014, has experience of managing trade licensing and accreditation bodies.
He was previously chief executive at temporary labour licensing firm Gangmaster Licensing Authority, the Centre for Rail Skills and Guidance Accreditation Board.
Livsey has also chaired a number of organisations that contribute to establishing professional trade standards and provide accreditation for practitioners, such as the government’s TrustMark organisation, which accredits trades and the Centre for Rail Skills, which sets national occupational standards for traction and stock maintenance.
After Fowler’s departure, Jeremy Harrison took on the role as interim chief executive from February 2014 to August 2014 and Gail Easterbrook, operations director as acting chief executive from August 2014.
The IRM is expected to provide further details and comment on the new appointment on Monday.
