BSI claims that the City of London, Europe's main financial services centre, is a major focus of concern regarding the threat to information security.
Among those companies that have followed the advice of the DTI and MI5 to meet the (ISMS) Information Security Management Standard, BS7799, only six per cent are financial services organisations. This means that the vast majority of organisations in the City of London are exposed to potential attack, despite government warnings that they may fine businesses that fail to put ISMS systems in place.
