Risk has now spread from north west England
UK health departments are on high alert after an outbreak of measles struck down more than 600 people in Wales.
The numbers of infected patients has now reached 620, up by another 32 since Friday with approximately 20 new cases being confirmed each day.
Public Health Wales director of health protection Dr Marion Lyons said: “We cannot be confident that the outbreak will not continue to grow with so many children still at risk from this very contagious and potentially fatal disease.”
Parents are being urged to vaccinate their children immediately, with more than 1,700 reporting to emergency clinics set up over the weekend, according to the BBC.
