Two of ACE’s senior figures speak to StrategicRISK about their role within the firm’s newly created global accounts division
ACE’s new global accounts division will bring together some of the insurers top executives into one “focused organisation” to drive its multinational offering.
Joseph Clabby (pictured), currently regional president of ACE’s Continental Europe operations, will lead the division, taking on the role of global accounts division president.
Speaking about his new position, he said: “Over several years, we have carefully built out our infrastructure to serve large multinational customers, and this new division brings together all of these resources into one focused organisation.
“The new organisation has the flexibility to leverage global knowledge, technology and capabilities, such as risk financing, specialty underwriting and the ACE Worldview information portal, while empowering regional teams with local expertise, such as underwriting authority and regulatory compliance, to meet the specific needs of clients.
“We have achieved this level of sophistication in the multinational segment by growing with and listening to clients and responding to their feedback, and we see that as being just as critical, if not more so, moving forward.”
Clabby’s new role will see him relocate from Paris to New York where he will report to vice-chairman and chief operating officer John Keogh, and chairman, (insurance), North America, John Lupica.
Clabby will be supported by Michael Furgueson who will lead the global accounts division in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Furgueson said: “This structure better enables us to deliver the capabilities and resources of the company to the customer wherever in the world they may do business.
“In Europe and the Middle East, we have expanded our network of senior client and claims executives to match up with clients and brokers in major markets. We have also extended the servicing capabilities that we have refined in the US and UK, across Continental Europe.
“We are poised across the region to work with companies as they look to expand beyond their home countries and buy insurance and manage their risks across borders, even in emerging markets in Europe and the Middle East, where companies are leveraging their robust home market to grow their businesses elsewhere.”
In addition, John Alfieri (North America), and Suresh Krishnan (Asia Pacific and Latin America) will lead the new division for their respective regions, reporting to Clabby.
These executives will have responsibility for delivering ACE’s global capabilities to multinational clients and brokers in their regions, including the company’s broad product portfolio, claims and risk management services, advanced technology, regulatory compliance expertise and network of local operations and partners in more than 190 countries.
They will also oversee regional client and claims executives and servicing teams that are focused on multinational clients and brokers.
