The need for professional internal auditors has never been more important, says Kiem
The Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (Chartered IIA) has announced the appointment of Anne Kiem OBE as its new chief executive.
She has extensive leadership experience in the business, educational and non-profit sectors. Kiem joins from the Chartered Association of Business Schools (Chartered ABS), where as chief executive for eight years she oversaw the organisation being awarded its Royal Charter.
Before that, she was chief executive of the Institute of Financial Services. Anne was awarded an OBE in 2019 for her services to small businesses and entrepreneurs.
Kiem said she was looking forward to leading the organisation and its stakeholders ’to ensure that we have a strong internal audit profession for the future’.
”All businesses need to have robust mechanisms in place to monitor processes and practices to ensure long-term success and in more risky, uncertain, and volatile times the need for professional internal auditors has never been more important.”
Kiem replaces Interim CEO John Wood who left in December 2022.
