Alexander Mahnke is joining MSIG Insurance Europe after nearly 12 years as CEO Insurance at Siemens
Dr Alexander Mahnke is resigning from his position as CEO of the General Association of Insurance Businesses (GVNW). The decision to step down follows a change in career, with Mahnke taking on a role in the insurance sector.
Announcing his career move on LinkedIN, he said: ”After nearly 12 years as CEO Insurance at Siemens AG - CF F, I have decided to take on a new professional challenge and join MSIG Insurance Europe AG as chief commercial officer on March 1, 2023.
I will leave Siemens with sadness in my heart, but I am looking forward to exciting endeavors with my new colleagues. Until then, I will continue to commit myself to CF F Insurance.”
Meanwhile, GVNW announced that due to the career change, Mahnke would be resigning as CEO at the end of the year, adding it had lost a highly-valued leader.
“All board members and all employees are happy for him, but regret at the same time his departure from the association,” it said in a statement.
“Dr Mahnke has, during almost nine years as chairman of the board of management, represented the interests of our members. He was also instrumental in the successful merger of the two associations BFV and DVS to form GVNW.”
The association plans to elect a new CEO in May 2023. Until then, deputy chair Christian Böhm will take on the leadership responsibilities.
