Stockholm hosts the first meeting of the Swedish, Danish and Norwegian risk management associations
Swedish, Danish and Norwegian risk managers gathered in Stockholm today (March 24) for the first pan-Scandinavian risk forum.
For the first time, members of the Dutch risk management association, Darim, and the Norwegian risk management association, Norima, joined Swedish risk managers from Swerma for the annual Risk Forum event.
Around 100 people gathered together at the Marriott Courtyard hotel in Stockholm city centre for the event.
Charlotte Barnekow, Swerma president and one of the organisers, told StrategicRISK: “I am delighted to welcome our Danish and Norwegian colleagues to the annual Swerma Risk Forum. We have been interested in cooperating for a long time now.”
The evening before the Swerma Forum, members of Swerma, Darim and Norima, attended a reception at the British Embassy in Stockholm. That event was organised by Lloyd's representatives in Sweden.
The Scandinavian risk managers also hope to join forces again at the Ferma Risk Management Forum in Stockholm in October.
Barnekow, who is the head of risk management for telecom company Ericsson, also indicated that Swerma members would be attending events hosted by the Danish and Norwegian associations.
“Many of the issues that we face as a profession are the same across Scandinavia and it is very good for us to come together and share ideas this way,” she said.
