Institute of Risk Management chief executive Steve Fowler steps down after leading the institute for more than a decade
The Institute of Risk Management (IRM) has announced that Steve Fowler will leave his post as chief executive after leading the institute for 11 years.
Deputy chairman Jeremy Harrison will take up the role of interim chief executive from 14 February when Fowler officially steps down.
Fowler will continue to serve at the IRM as a strategic adviser, focusing on international relationships.
Fowler said: “The IRM is radically different to the organisation I joined as chief executive 11 years ago; 10 times bigger financially, a membership 600% larger and with real influence throughout the world.
“I’m now looking forward to supporting the institute’s growth in my new capacity, which will also give me much needed time and space to pursue other interests as well.”
Harrison said: “We have an exciting future ahead of us at the Institute of Risk Management and I am looking forward to bringing a number of critical IRM projects to fruition. I am grateful to Steve for the excellent work he has done.”
