Two winners of StrategicRISK Awards make it onto the Ferma board of directors
Ferma, the European risk management federation, has welcomed three new members to its management board.
The new board members are: Helle Friberg of Hempel and the Danish association Darim; Igor Mikhaylov from Mobile Telesystems and the Russian association Rusrisk; and Arnout van der Veer from Reed Elsevier and the Dutch association Narim.
Both Igor Mikhaylov and Arnout van der Veer have received StrategicRISK’s prestigious European Risk Manager of the Year Award.
Helle Friberg is the vice-president of Darim as well as a member of the planning committee for the Nordic Ferma forum which will take place in Stockholm October 2-5 2011.
The President of Ferma Peter den Dekker (pictured) paid tribute to the valuable contribution of two long-serving directors who have stood down from the Ferma board: Marie-Gemma Dequae of the Belgian association Belrim and Paul Taylor of the UK association Airmic.
Dequae was Den Dekker's immediate predecessor as president of Ferma and Paul Taylor is this year's chairman of Airmic.
Den Dekker said: "The election of Igor Mikhaylov from Rusrisk shows that Ferma represents the risk managers of a very large part of the European business community. I am looking forward to working with the new team members."
