Insurance broker Willis Towers Watson has appointed Gianmarco Tosti to lead its Italian business from Milan
Gianmarco Tosti has taken over as head of Italy at Willis Towers Watson, replacing Guido de Spirt.
Tosti was most recently the broker’s regional head of corporate risk and broking for Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Spirt will take on the role of Chairman of Italy, the insurance broker said.
Tosti will also take up the role of head of corporate risk and broking for Italy. He starts his new job in Milan on 1 January 2018.
Paul Morris, head of Western Europe at Willis Towers Watson, said: “Italy is an important market for us and we think the best is yet to come. Gianmarco is uniquely positioned to take us to the next level and to help our business there shine even brighter.”
Alberto Gallego, head of corporate risk and broking for Western Europe, said: “Gianmarco’s track record in this company has been one of high performance through innovation and strong teamwork. His recent role leading risk and broking across a huge region has left him with many insights that will work well in a dynamic market like Italy.”
Tosti said: “I’ve learned a lot about our business and the wider industry in a variety of international leadership roles, and this is the perfect opportunity to apply that knowledge and experience in my own country.
“The intersection between people and risk is going to be increasingly relevant for our Italian clients. Willis Towers Watson, with its integrated proposition, is perfectly positioned to become their partner of choice.”
