The new unit is led by Raimund Navakas, senior vice-president, global property risk engineering. Navakas is responsible for the integration of the insurer’s regional risk engineering operations around the world, using data analytics to drive results.
Navakas will relocate from Sydney to New York City and will report jointly to Paul O’Neill, chief underwriting officer, North America property & specialty lines, and Jarrod Hill, executive vice-president, Property, ACE Overseas General, based in London.
Paul Brooke, property risk engineering manager, UK and Ireland, said: “We are committed to further strengthening our client-focused, solutions-orientated risk engineering proposition in the UK and Ireland. Rai Navakas’s appointment to this global role will help us ensure that we have the appropriate engineering resources to help our clients, wherever their facilities are located.
“With seamless and consistent risk engineering products and services in place, the global property risk engineering unit will enhance our capabilities to provide a more value-added offering to our clients. In addition, with the recent global launch of our innovative web and tablet-based benchmarking system (‘Eureka’), we are now able to data-mine our information to a more granular level and provide clients with real-time risk information, to better assist them in their decision-making process.”
