One of the world's leading economists and management consultants will be among the expert speakers at this year's AIRMIC annual conference in Birmingham in June. Peter Bernstein, author of eight highly praised books and numerous magazine and newspaper articles, will use his best-seller Against the Gods: The Remarkable Story of Risk as the theme of his speech to the conference.
Peter Bernstein's Against the Gods won the Edwin G Booz Prize in 1996 for the most insightful, innovative management book published that year. His latest book is The Power of Gold: The History of an Obsession, which tells how people have become obsessed and humbled by the precious metal. He also received the Clarence Arthur
Kelp/Elizur Wright Memorial Award from the American Risk and Insurance Association (ARIA) for his outstandingly original contribution to the literature of risk and insurance.
