New AIRMIC members recently attended a university-style "freshers' evening" at the Lloyd's building in London. The event was themed to allow representatives of AIRMIC's special interest groups and industry sector groups, as well as the membership, marketing and administration teams, to provide information for the new members, updating them on the current networking practices and on the membership benefits that were available to them.
Sponsored by Alexander Forbes, the informal evening attracted many new members who had joined AIRMIC since the turn of the millennium. They represented, among others, FTSE 250 companies such as Shell, Ladbrokes, 3i and Cadbury Schweppes. The freshers' evening proved very successful, and will become an annual event.
