Risk managers and corporate treasurers will be combining their expertise to tackle the challenges presented by change and convergence in today's business environment. A conference organised by the UK professional bodies AIRMIC and ACT, will take place at The Church House Conference Centre in London on 5 October.
Set against a background of depressed stock markets, a hardening insurance sector, the collapse of major companies, and consolidation, mergers and takeovers, the speakers will have a keen audience at this third annual event, again sponsored by Zurich.
Helping delegates to manage the opportunities and challenges of this risk-filled environment will be four key speakers. Anthony Hilton, city editor of the London Evening Standard will discuss the convergence of the insurance and capital markets; Gerry Salkin from the Centre for Quantitative Finance at Imperial College will show how to understand 'the total risk basket'; Mike Northeast of Kuwait Petroleum International Ltd will present an integrated approach to risk management, and Tom Skwarek, principal of Swiss Re, will give his views on how capital and insurance markets work together.
