Broker distribution director Fraser Edmond heading to start-up at end of this year

Insurer Aviva has hired former Marsh UK markets division chief executive Graeme MacMillan as director, international brokers.

At the same time, the insurer announced that broker distribution director Fraser Edmond is leaving Aviva for a start-up at the end of the year.

MacMillan, who will join Aviva in the next month, will focus on developing Aviva’s trading relationships with international brokers as it pushes for further growth in its Global Corporate and Specialty (GCS) division.

He will also build international broker relationships across the Aviva group in the UK and overseas.

Aviva intermediaries managing director Phil Bayles said: “[MacMillan] is a hugely respected figure in the London market and a great fit for our business as we seek to fulfil our full potential with GCS and expand our relationships with international brokers, both in breadth and by territory.”

MacMillan said: “I am excited to be joining the Aviva team as they look to build on their success in the UK intermediated market.

“Aviva Global Corporate Speciality has the potential to grow significantly and the company’s vision around delivering the benefits of a composite business to clients is compelling. I look forward to this new challenge after a long and successful career in broking.”

On Edmond’s departure, Bales said: “Fraser has played a pivotal role in our success as a business over the last five years, running our major broker relationships and being a valued and trusted member of my senior team. Fraser has an exciting future ahead of him and he leaves with our goodwill and appreciation for his contribution and we wish him continued success in his next role.”
