AIRMIC set to examine the issue of claims handling and willingness to pay
In the next year, AIRMIC will be addressing the areas of claims handling and willingness to pay.
"Insurance and reinsurance are still an important part of what AIRMIC does," said Geoff Taylor yesterday, in his opening conference address. Discussing the highlights of his year as chairman, he commented: "We have represented all our members at the FSA on contract certainty and broker remuneration. In the next project, we hope to talk about claims."
He said that this involved not just monitoring the financial strength of a (re)insurance organisation but also addressing how claims are processed, the willingness of insurers to make payments, and how that can be measured.
