Marsh sets up captive firm in Scandinavia

Marsh has established a captive insurance management and advisory facility in Copenhagen to serve the Nordic region.

Marsh also announced that Lars Andersen has joined the firm to lead its captive solutions practice in the Nordic region, focusing on Denmark, Norway and Finland.

Andersen, who reports to Claude Weber, head of Marsh’s captive solutions in Luxembourg, joins Marsh with experience in managing Aon’s captive management firm in Denmark. Andersen was also a risk manager for TDC in Copenhagen and group risk manager of Grundfos in Bjerringbro. He is a past chairman of DARIM, the Danish Risk Managers Association.

Weber said: “Clients have asked us to expand our existing captive capabilities to accommodate their needs in the Nordic region. We are delighted to be able to respond by bringing in a widely respected leader such as Lars, who has been recognised by the risk management community here and has a high profile in the captive management industry.”
