This pilot scheme, funded by the European Union Leonardo project, will be complete by October 2006, after which it can be released in a commercial version. Users who license Prorim will be able to customise it to suit their own purposes. According to Paul Taylor, chairman of the Prorim project, insurers, brokers and independent consultants have expressed interest in adding the programme to their portfolio of client services. "I see a very bright future for Prorim in the years ahead," said Taylor.
Prorim is aimed at small and medium sized businesses that do not have a full time risk manager. The first module - human resources - was launched at the FERMA Forum in October. Additional modules cover strategy, sales and marketing, finance and business continuity.
